Medium Roasted 3lb

$54

Medium roasted coffees are medium brown in color with more body than light roasts. Like the lighter roasts, they have no oil on the bean surfaces. However, medium roasts lack the grainy taste of the light roasts, exhibiting more balanced flavor, aroma, and acidity. We roast the beans a little longer than for light roasts to change from light to medium which involves a little more of a color change, so a slightly darker shade of brown.

Because of the time and attention we give to this process, our medium roasted beans develop flavors well, hence resulting into more body and sweetness for which this roast level is perfected for.

Our medium roasts are really popular in the specialty coffee industry due to their accessibility and capability for use in most common brewing methods while still retaining flavor and character.

Our flavors are palatable to most preferences – the intensity of acidity and delicate flavors found with lighter roasts are somewhat reduced, meaning more of an easy-drinking and balanced flavor for consumers.

From our medium roasts, expect to find the following flavor characteristics;

Lower, milder levels of acidity than in lighter roasts, but usually still a prominent characteristic.

Delicately nuanced flavors still evident, though less prominent than is found with lighter roast degrees

Highly aromatic when ground & used within the recommended time period.

Likely to be sweet in flavor (when roasted and brewed properly) but at a lower intensity than with lighter roasts.

Medium Roasts Balance Acidity and Body.

At this roast level, the coffee’s qualities begin to give way to the roast’s flavors and aromas, creating a balance between acidity and body. You’ll still be able to taste the original coffee, but the beans’ brightness will be complemented with the fuller body that is introduced by the roasting process.
