Our story started in Waltham city in Massachusetts state; in 2016 after making tours and business trips to Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania. In 2020 a company was started in January 2020 as Greenland International LLC- Waltham Coffee in the suburbs of Boston in Hyde Park MA. To our founders Jean Paul Mwumvaneza, Charles Mukuba ,Vincent Bulega, Derrick Iga who have a passion for coffee; coffee beans are both green and roasted.
As a company dealing in an activity that directs impacts on peoples’ livelihoods, we are focused on developing the coffee sector as well as helping to make a difference in the communities where our coffee originates from.
We are planning to achieve this through giving back at least 1% of our operating income to charity and also pledge that the more the company will earn, the more it is able to support its associated farmers and extended communities.
There are so many needs across East Africa and we can’t support them all but as of now our priority is to utilize the little we have earned from trading coffee to help the East African child acquire education.
With our humble beginning, we have thought about using some of our gains from the trade of coffee to help families in East African by extending education support to the less privileged children through the provision of scholastic materials and school fees.
Under this project, we will work with people from whom we buy the coffee regardless of race, religion or nationality and also help the families in East Africa to provide a decent livelihood to their children by supporting them in school.
The heart and soul of Waltham Coffee is grown in East Africa countries of Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda guided by the vision and mission as stated below.
